It is impossible to read the daily press without being diverted from reality. You are full of enthusiasm for the eternal verities -- life is worth living, and then out of sinful curiosity you open a newspaper. You are disillusioned and wrecked.

Modern Art PDF Print E-mail

In response to redpesto's suggestion of The Arts, may I suggest a distinction between Modern rubbish, which is the emperor's news clothes and can be reproduced for a couple of quid, is occasionally disgusting - it's basically fraud, and real art, which looks like what it is supposed to. Art may only be praised for the sake of contrasting it to modern rubbish or as part of the travel section. Art debate justifies publishing risqué images when the opportunity arises. If 'art' is purchased by a public body, then it is a massive waste of tax-payers hard-earned money.
