I know I shouldn't be, but I was astonished even by the level of vitriol and sheer mendacity in the Mail's reporting. You'd hope that the readership would see through it but I guess if you've bought the paper for long enough and swallowed its hate-filled worldview, then maybe your judgement isn't anything to be relied upon. The only consolation I guess is that they must be really worried if they think they have to devote this level of smearing to Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems. But God it's depressing, isn't it?
