However, I think the golliwog could describe an hairstyle, rather than a religious or cultural thing which the head scarf is. I was however, trying to understand the mindset of Iain Dale and how he could justify what he was saying. I would prefer it if racist or loaded words were not used at all - with the richness and variation of the English language we certainly do not need them to form appropriate similes.
