It's sort of a good point. The Sun is very cleverly written. When I worked in tefl, I used to give classes an old Sun article on the Metric Martyrs, and get them to pick out all the melodramatic vocab, and that kind of close reading really hammered home to me how clever the prose is, not just in condensing what would take a Guardianista 1000 obscure words into 50 that an eight-year-old could read, but in terms of manipulating the reader's reaction so as not to be noticed on the first reading, and making utter bullshit sound plausible. Of course, dizzy misses the point entirely. Yeah, the Sun is well written. Not in a John Milton way, but well-written all the same. Thing is though, praising The Sun for the quality of its prose is a bit like praising the Virgina Tech guy for his marksmanship.
